The members of the Seasoned Saints Ministry (SSM) of First Baptist Church (FBC) seek to meet the spiritual, physical and social needs of our retired and senior adults age 62 and over.  We keep faith with the mission statement of First Baptist Church-Pittsburg: evangelism, discipleship, outreach, fellowship, the proclamation and the pursuit of excellence in all things.

 

The members of the SSM of FBC are loved and serve an important role in our church and community.   We serve as intercessors who strengthen the foundation FBC in prayer and willingly and actively share our knowledge in all areas of ministry.

 

We desire to enhance the lives of all seasoned saints we come into contact with, especially within the walls of our church and throughout our community by nurturing them, appreciating their wisdom and experience, and ensuring they are cared for while being an active part of the FBC Family.

 

Our core values can be summed up as:

LOVE

LEADERSHIP, in fellowship while sharing our abilities with others for the cause of Christ.

OUTREACH, carrying out the Great Commission through our connected spheres of influence.

VICTORY, in compassionate support of the needy, as caring givers of His love.

ENCOURAGEMENT, through prayer and study with one another of His promises.

 

All are welcome to attend and become a part of our ministry but we specifically target those who are 62 years of age and older.

The Seasoned Saints Ministry in partnership with various local agencies and organizations provide the following services and activities:

 

* Adult Bible Study:  Wednesday at 12:00PM
*Monthly Fellowship:  the last Tuesday of each month

*Hot Meals
*Health Care Issues & Concerns
* Fire and Home Safety Workshops
* Wills/Living Wills & Estate Planning
* Light Aerobics
* Tours and Field Trips
* Social and Recreational Activities
* Birthday Celebrations AND MUCH MORE
