Volunteer Audiovisual Technician

Audiovisual (AV) technicians set up and run the sound and video equipment used to conduct live worship services at First Baptist Church, Pittsburg. They mix soundboards, play video recordings, enhance lighting, and coordinate graphics.

Anticipated Time Commitments

  • Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: two to three hours a week
  • Participating in meetings/training: one hour a quarter or as requested

 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Arrive prior to worship services to double-check and set up equipment as needed.
  • Operate sound/video recording equipment to record messages and special music for the audiovisual ministry.
  • Maintain an organized library of masters.
  • Duplicate recordings as needed.
  • Operate production video cameras during worship service.
  • Responsible for creation and execution of video presentations. This includes graphic images and text for announcements, song lyrics and other items supporting worship services.
  • Presents graphics in coordination with music and sermons using presentation software.
  • Also capable of operating cameras, display monitors and associated equipment for image magnification, remote viewing, and recording of services.
  • Able to operate and include internet applications such as Skype and YouTube into service presentations.
  • Provides technical support to the media ministry including the production of video resources.
  • Maintain equipment and arrange for repairs as necessary. Report equipment and supply replacement needs or recommendations to the AV Ministry Leader.
